The women’s basketball team defeated Canada 5-0 to win the bronze medal.
The soccer team was the last to win gold.
The French women’s team won the silver medal in men’s soccer.
The Canadians won gold in women’s hockey.

“This marks the end of a long history of sports, in which Quebec is the undisputed leader.
We look forward to playing against our French sisters in the Olympic Games and to the Paralympics in 2020.”

Canada has not qualified for the World Cup since 1972.
France will face the United States in the quarterfinals.

The U.S. defeated Canada 4-0 in the bronze-medal game.
The final was played at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium on Sunday night.
